Drip
This project was developed for the Rethink Side Table design competition by DesignWanted, which challenged designers to rethink the traditional side table as a design object for contemporary living. The brief called for a conceptual reinterpretation that goes beyond conventional function, exploring new forms, material strategies and everyday rituals.
Drip is a side table that captures the fleeting moment when a drop of water meets a still surface and sends ripples outward. It translates this delicate, almost invisible movement into a sculptural object, freezing the dance of water in time. Carved from stone, the table brings together two contrasting qualities: the fluidity of water and the solidity of a geological material.
Drip is an exploration of transformation, where a brief natural phenomenon is turned into something permanent and inhabitable. It draws attention to the poetry of small moments we often overlook, offering a piece that feels at once quiet and dramatic.
